1. Why these guidelines exist
DexTask is a campus community. Rides, Gigs, and Campus Market only work if people can assume that a profile, a listing, and a location ping are roughly what they appear to be. These Community Guidelines explain the standard of conduct we expect from Student Users, Approved Operators, Guests, and people who write on the Website.
They sit under the Terms and Conditions. If you want the legal contract, read the Terms. If you want a practical statement of how to behave on campus with DexTask, read this page. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to Content removal, cancelled transactions, suspension, or termination, as the Terms describe.
These guidelines are not a criminal code and not a university disciplinary code. You must still obey Nigerian law and your institution's rules.
2. Who is welcome
Verified students on a supported campus, and Approved Operators who have completed onboarding, are welcome to use the matching features. Guests may browse where the product allows it. Website readers are welcome to use public information pages and forms.
We do not tolerate harassment based on sex, ethnicity, religion, disability, or similar grounds. We also do not tolerate impersonation of DexTask staff, campus security, or a university officer.
You do not have to like every person you meet through the App. You do have to keep the interaction usable and lawful.
3. Honesty in identity
Use your own Account. Do not borrow a classmate's verified profile to request a Ride, accept a Gig, or sell goods. Do not create a second Account to escape a restriction.
Your Legal Name must be your verified name. Payouts will fail if the bank account name does not match. That is a financial-integrity rule, not a style preference.
Do not post a verification selfie that is not of you. Do not submit an admission letter or campus document that is not yours. Do not claim a matriculation number you do not have.
Operators must not let an unapproved driver take requests on their profile.
4. Honesty in listings, gigs, and fares
A Campus Market Listing should show the actual item, a fair description of condition, and the price you intend to charge. Do not use stock photos of a different object. Do not hide a crack, a missing charger, or a counterfeit brand.
A Gig brief should describe the work, the place, the time, and the pay. Do not bait an executor with a small task and then demand unrelated labour. Do not post a Gig that is actually a sale of illegal goods.
Do not exploit an obvious fare or price error. If the App shows a figure that cannot be right, contact support instead of racing to capture it.
Promoted or boosted listings must still obey these guidelines. Paying for a slot does not buy the right to mislead.
5. Messages and ratings
Chat exists to coordinate a Ride, a Gig, or a sale. Use it for that. Do not send sexual messages to a person who did not invite them. Do not threaten anyone. Do not spam many sellers with copy-paste scams.
Do not ask a counterparty to move a funded payment off DexTask in order to dodge Escrow. Off-platform cash deals for a Gig that was funded in-app undermine the protection both sides were offered.
Ratings should reflect the actual trip, task, or sale. A one-star rating because you had an argument about politics is not honest. A five-star rating that you sold in exchange for a kickback is not honest either.
Gig chat and briefs may leave the App shortly after completion. Do not put passwords, card numbers, or intimate images in chat.
6. Location integrity
If a feature requires precise location, leave it on for that feature. Do not use mock location apps, VPNs as a location spoof, or a friend's phone at the venue while you stay elsewhere.
False check-in on an errand, or a fake pickup pin on a Ride, is a serious breach. It can forfeit payment, return Escrow, and restrict the Account.
Operators who go online must actually be in the campus area the product uses for availability. Students who request a Ride must be able to reach the pickup point they chose.
7. Safety and respect in person
Meet in public, well-used campus places where you can. Do not insist that a buyer or executor follow you into an isolated hostel room for a small transaction.
Passengers and operators should keep the vehicle interaction respectful. No slurs, no unwanted touching, no deliberate unsafe driving as a joke.
Executors carrying goods must not eat, sell, or divert those goods. If a shop is closed or you cannot complete the errand, use the drop or support path in the App. Do not disappear with the item.
If someone makes you unsafe, leave, contact emergency services if needed, and report the Account to DexTask. See Safety and Trust.
8. What you must not offer or request
The following are not allowed on DexTask, whether as a Gig, a Listing, a chat request, or a Website form:
- stolen property;
- weapons, ammunition, or explosives;
- illegal drugs and related paraphernalia;
- sexual services, sexual images of others, or any sexual content involving a minor;
- academic cheating that your institution forbids, including sitting an exam for someone else;
- fraud, phishing, or money-mule schemes;
- hate organisations' recruitment;
- tasks that require a professional licence you do not hold (for example, presenting yourself as a registered medical practitioner).
If you see one of these, report it. Do not "just this once" because the pay looks good.
9. Campus and public space
DexTask map pins and zone names are convenience labels. They are not a licence to enter a restricted laboratory, a hall of residence you cannot access, or a road that campus security has closed.
Keep noise, crowding, and vehicle parking within campus rules. A keke pickup should not block an emergency gate.
Do not film people for a listing verification video without their agreement if they are not part of the listing.
10. Website and blog conduct
Comments are not currently a general public forum on every blog post. If we enable comments later, these guidelines will apply to them. Forms and email must not be used to abuse staff. We may stop answering a person whose messages are only insults.
Do not scrape shop pages to build a competing database of student sellers. Public search engines may index pages in line with robots.txt.
Affiliate links and ads on the blog are labelled or served as ads. Do not disguise malware as a "partner pick".
11. Reporting
Report in-app through Help and support, or email support@dextask.app. Include the profile, listing, task, or trip identifier if you have it. For operator fleet issues you may also use ops@dextask.app.
We may remove Content, warn a User, restrict a feature, or close an Account. We do not publish an appeals portal. You may ask for a review by writing to support. We will not reverse a decision merely because the other party is angry.
False reporting in order to sabotage a competitor's listing is itself a breach.
12. Relationship to other documents
These guidelines do not replace the Terms, the Privacy Policy, or the Payments page. They do not create a university partnership. They do not make DexTask responsible for every private conversation that happens after two students meet.
